Christopher Tae Ryu, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Computer Science

Christopher Tae RyuChristopher Ryu received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from University of Houston, Houston, Texas. He joined the Department of Computer Science, California State University, Fullerton in 1999. In addition to academic experience, he has more than 7 years of industry experience in the areas of databases, data mining, Internet computing, and finance. He has helped many local companies in building IT systems to support their business process and operations.

His research interests include data mining, computational finance, databases, and evolutionary computation. He has published more than 40 referred journals and conferences in these areas. He has also served as a reviewer for many journals and conferences.

His current research projects include:

  • A Web-based Telecommunications Link and Orbital Analysis, Simulation, and Operation sponsored by NASA/JPL
  • Efficient parameterless clustering algorithms
  • Market behavior and risk modeling using Bayesian networks
  • Efficient data-centric methods for sensor networks
