Respondus LockDown Browser

Respondus LockDown Browser* is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment during an online quiz or exam.  Respondus LockDown Browser prevents test takers from using several functions including printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during a test. A built-in calculator option is available.  Instructors may use this tool for their Canvas quizzes.

Instructions for Students

Please set up Respondus LockDown Browser PRIOR to your exam date by following the instructions below. 

  1. Install Respondus LockDown BrowserOpens in new window on a computer or laptop. *Must have admin access to install the software

  3. How to Use Respondus LockDown BrowserOpens in new window
  4. To take an online test, start Respondus LockDown Browser and navigate to the exam (You won't be able to access the exam with a standard web browser).
