The Master of Public Health Program at Cal State
Fullerton

The MPH program at Cal State Fullerton is an advanced course of study designed to train the next generation of public health committed to meeting society’s collective interest in assuring healthy environments and equitable opportunities that allow people to thrive. It is a residential 21-month degree program accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).  Our innovative core curriculum emphasizes the interconnectedness of the foundational areas of public health practice. Students will become proficient in using evidence-based approaches to advance public health, functioning effectively in public health and health care settings, planning and managing activities that promote health, shaping public health policies, demonstrating leadership, and skillfully communicating with a variety of audiences.

The diversity of our students is reflected in many ways, including the various undergraduate academic backgrounds. As an interdisciplinary field, the public health workforce is made up of professionals from a wide array of fields including but not limited to the social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, anthropology, political science), biological and environmental sciences, mathematics and engineering, and management and administration. We welcome students from different disciplines to apply to the program. In light of emerging and highly visible health concerns nationally and worldwide, a committed and skilled public health workforce is an urgent need now more than ever.
