Professional Learning Series for Teachers

 

The College of Education at California State University, Fullerton and The SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union Center for Creativity and Critical Thinking are pleased to offer this unique professional learning experience led by teams of teachers and experts in the field. The College of Education is committed to professional development of innovative and transformative educators who advance just, equitable, and inclusive education.  As part of that mission we are pleased to offer The Inquiry and Innovation Professional Learning Series as free professional development to TK-12 classroom teachers . Teachers may select from a series of workshops, and are encouraged to register for multiple sessions. 

  • Workshops are held online through Google Classroom and Zoom, or in person.
  • Teachers receive free online resources and materials to support classroom implementation. 
  • All sessions include planning time for teachers to develop curriculum or action steps for their own classroom.

Establishing the importance of writing in secondary schools and how vital writing skills are for success in college and career.

FALL WRITING SERIES: APPROACHES AND STRATEGIES FOR TEACHING WRITING

November 16, 2024, Saturday Online

During this session, Dr. Street will discuss research-based approaches and proven strategies for teaching writing skills to secondary students. Teachers will learn how to readily apply these skills in their instruction.

FALL WRITING SERIES: PROVIDING HELPFUL FEEDBACK TO STUDENT WRITERS

December 14, 2024, Saturday Online

9:00 am - 10:00 am

This session focuses on time saving approaches to providing students with helpful
feedback on their writing, including the ethical use of AI as a tool for providing formative
feedback to student writers.

Art for Classroom Teachers
Come spend a Saturday or two "Fall"-ing in love with art once again!  You are welcome to attend both of these workshops, or just one. Use learning journals for all grade levels, engage in strategies and best practice for teacher and creators! This is an in person, on CSUF campus workshop.
