Kayla Nguyen

Hi everyone! My name is Kayla (she/her), and I’m a 4th year CAS student with a concentration in Family and Community Contexts. My career goal is to become a Child Life Specialist to help educate and prepare children (along with their families) who might be going through stressful procedures or situations at a hospital or medical clinic. Some of my hobbies include listening to music, reading, thrifting, building various kits, and making clay knicknacks! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Provides tutoring for CAS 101, 201, 300, 325A, and as well as general academic success skills (e.g., studying, reading, writing, note-taking, time management).

Sofia Rubio

Hi! My name is Sofia Rubio, and I am a Child and Adolescent Studies major with an Adolescent/Youth Concentration. My career goal is to become a College Professor and Researcher within the field of child development. I am very active on campus and involved with a lot of student life activities. I am currently President of the Student California Teachers Association (SCTA) Club, a Member of the Urban Learning Advisory Board, a Research Assistant for one of the CAS professors, and now I am also a Peer Tutor! In the past, I have also been a peer mentor for our college and a course assistant for CAS 301. Aside from tutoring, I also work part-time as a student assistant at the Center for Careers in Teaching, so if you are interested in becoming a teacher, reach out to me, and I'll be happy to provide some resources and tips! When I am not doing anything related to school or academics, I will most likely be at the gym, reading, or cooking.

Sandra Salas

Hi everyone! My name is Sandra Salas (she/her/hers), and I am a fifth-year undergraduate student majoring in Child & Adolescent Development with a concentration in Family and Community Context. My career aspiration is to pursue academia and research at a four-year university. On my free time I love to spend time with friends and family, engage in video games, and dabble in learning new skills. Isabella Zarco

Hello! My name is Isabella (she/her) and I am a 4th year CAS student with a concentration in Elementary School Contexts and a minor in Psychology. I aim to help be a part of children’s learning by becoming a teacher or researcher. I enjoy watching movies, long drives, and hikes. I look forward to meeting you!
