Dear Colleagues,
The CSU Chancellor recently shared the CSU’s intent to require students and employees who are accessing campus facilities at any university location to be immunized against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. This requirement is conditioned upon full approval of one or more vaccines by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as adequate availability of the fully approved vaccines. Once the requirement comes into effect, we will comply with its terms.
Prior to this announcement, our campus developed a plan for safe re-entry. The plan includes a requirement for all students and employees to be tested at least weekly. Those that choose to be vaccinated can opt out of the testing plan by verifying that they have been fully vaccinated. As our next step in implementing our campus plan, we are now ready to collect and verify vaccine records from those that want to opt out of the testing requirement by voluntarily submitting their vaccination record for verification.
In designing this process, we took care to ensure that maintaining employee privacy was paramount. To complete the process, employees will need to provide the dates they received their COVID-19 vaccine and upload a copy of their vaccination record. That record will be reviewed and verified by a third-party vendor, Point and Click Solutions (PNC), that is HIPAA compliant and has been vetted by the University’s Information Technology Security Office. The only information PNC will share with the University will be whether it verified the record. This will allow the University to identify which employees no longer need to be tested.
Employees that choose to can now begin to voluntarily provide their vaccine records through the new system to opt out of the required testing. Click here for instructions on how to start the process. ASI employees may also upload their records. Information will be sent soon to ASC employees outlining how they can upload their vaccination records.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we navigate these changes together. We appreciate your partnership as we work toward a successful return to campus. If you have questions about the upload process, please contact Health Services IT at extension 7933. For questions about testing or vaccination requirements, please contact hr@fullerton.edu.
Best,
