Inside IT Icon Workshops Virtual Lunch Sessions Always Learning Always Growing Icon

Examined the existing IT climate to identify and implement engagement strategies

  • Hosted an IT Mini Book Club for the book, “They Called Us Enemy”
  • Held Division of IT’s 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness and 1st Prostate Cancer Awareness
    (Movember) Walks
  • Continue to celebrate employee birthdays through an engaging zoom session
  • Continue to showcase cultural diversity within the Division through IT Connects
  • Emailed division reminders for mental wellness at the start of the semester
  • Employees shared personal interest stories
  • Encouraged employees to attend the campus movie night for “Just Mercy”
  • Highlighted two employees for Black History Month
  • Shared information regarding Pride Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Native American Heritage Month, and Asian American Pacific Islander Month
  • Celebrated Indigenous People’s Day, International Women’s Day, Chinese New Year, Persian New Year, Indian New Year, and Denim Day
  • Encouraged departments to participate in the CSU Systemwide Steps Challenge
  • Hosted in-person Holiday party to continue inclusive organizational excellence
  • Encouraged team members to attend the Titans Remember event
  • Attended the University Awards Program to support team members for their years of service

 

Broaden the current professional development program

  • Encouraged employees to complete the Conducting Equitable and Inclusive Searches training
  • Attended the Titan Table Talk: Resiliency in the Black Community
  • Held Virtual Leadership Session with VP John McGuthry from Cal Poly Pomona
  • Attended Cal State Tech Fridays Sessions:
    • California State University Connectivity Contributing to Equity and Student Success
      (CSUCCESS) Program
    • Women in Technology
    • Self Trust: The Key Success Factor to Overcoming Professions (and Personal) Challenges
  • Hosted the Women in Cybersecurity sessions
  • Encouraged all IT staff and managers to join the Titans Together Speaker Series: One Book, One CSUF – A Conversation with George Takei
  • Encouraged team members to attend multiple discussions during Social Justice Week
  • Implemented new processes in reviewing candidate resumes; removal of names and addresses from resumes
  • In collaboration with HRDI, provided the Inclusive Customer Service training for customer facing departments
  • Increased the number of female staff by four

 

Establish workplace transparency across the division

  • Continue to organize IT All Hands Meeting and recognize IT Recognition Award Recipients
  • Continue to welcome new IT employees to the team
  • Held Individual Team Meetings
  • Provided email updates regarding the new changes to the organization

 

Advance ubiquitous communication within IT and across the University

  • Hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Center for Equitable Digital Access (CEDA) Grand Opening
  • Continue to promote CSUCCESS and TitanWare through the new Center for Equitable Digital Access
  • Continue to expand the IT DEI webpage
  • Deployed “Social Justice” posters in all the classrooms on campus
  • Advertised the Women in Cybersecurity Virtual Event through email, CSUF News, social media posts, webpage, and digital signage
  • Welcomed new students and conducted survey to determine technology needs for the incoming class

 

Winter 2023

  • Provided technologies to CSUF students, faculty, and staff in the Accessible Technology Room (ATR).
