Students
There are many resources and activities available to our students.
Paying for School
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry has a number of scholarships available for our students. We encourage you to apply by filling out the scholarship application and any secondary documentation required and turn it in by the deadline.
What you need to Know
In order to register, all majors in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics must attend an advising session with their Department Advisor. You will not be allowed to register for classes until you have attended an advisement session.
Get Experience
An academic internship with a qualifying industrial partner can be a rewarding way to gain experience working in an industrial laboratory setting. Provided the internship is scientifically rigorous and directly related to chemistry or biochemistry, it can be used to gain up to 3 units of CHEM 490.

Four Year Graduation Initiative for Chemistry and Biochemistry Majors
At Cal State Fullerton, student success means much more than completing a degree. It includes well-being, learning, retention, timely graduation, career growth and becoming actively engaged citizens of our global society.
Student success has always been our business at Cal State Fullerton, yet the CSU Graduation Initiative 2025 gives us a renewed focus on improving graduation rates and eliminating opportunity gaps for underrepresented, low-income and first-generation students.
Graduation Initiative 2025 is all about students, and it’s about all of our students. There are many students who want to graduate in four years. Students who make the choice to take, on average, 30 units a year can graduate in four years. This allows them to save on tuition, earn money sooner and get a jumpstart on graduate school, a career, volunteer work or travel. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has worked towards this campus initiative by facilitating a four year plan for all of our undergraduate majors. Please view the plans for your major and if you have questions, please speak with your academic advisor within the department.
