Student Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate an ability to critically assess a wide variety of global and local theatre practices, theories, plays, and performance traditions, including historical roots and contemporary innovations to connect theatres of the past and the present and future possibilities.
  • Demonstrate an ability to execute research, including devising research questions and locating resources, assessing the sources so that they inform the students’ understanding of theatres and performance traditions, artists and play texts, and contemporary discourse in the field.
  • Clearly convey their own ideas, drawing from multiple influences and entering into discussion with them. This is demonstrated through written, oral, visual, audio, and experiential methods.
  • Critically and creatively apply materials and techniques in working with the materials of technical theatre including those involved in the design, creation, construction, and manipulation of sets, costumes, makeup, hair and wigs, lights, sound, and projection.
  • Collaborate successfully with other students and artists in the creation and execution of work for the theatre in one or more capacities, including as actors, directors, designers, playwrights, technicians, stage managers, and other production personnel.
