Fieldwork Office
The Fieldwork Office provides information about securing a fieldwork site and helps students choose a placement that will enhance their skill and professional development. “Fieldwork” in human services refers to a supervised internship at an approved community based agency. Students may find placements in a variety of human services’ settings which include education, mental health, social work, and administration. The Fieldwork Office coordinates 2 Fieldwork Days per year (fall and spring semesters) where 60+ agencies come to campus to recruit and disseminate information about their programs and learning opportunities. Fieldwork emphasizes the integration of academic and hands-on learning. It gives the student an opportunity to apply course work to practical situations. The Fieldwork Office works in conjunction with the Human Services Department to set policies and procedures and administer the Fieldwork Program.
