windows 11 Microsoft Windows 11

All Windows computers will be upgraded to Windows 11. Beginning April 2024, faculty & staff will receive a pop-up window notification on their system with instructions to upgrade. The Academic Technology Center, (ATC in PLS-237) can assist with in-person upgrade, including a training session, if needed. Devices that cannot be upgraded will be replaced. All classroom computer labs will be converted to Windows 11 in Summer of 2024, and will be available for summer instruction.

Windows 11 has a familiar desktop experience, but users will notice changes to the Taskbar.  The Start button and shortcuts are now centered by default.  These can be changed to the older style left alignment in Settings, if desired.
