ABOUT THE CURATORs

Susan Y. Shimazu is a professor at Cal State Fullerton in both the Department of Public Health and Asian American Studies.

Nicole Yang is an artist and professor at Cal State Fullerton.  She is the director and head of curriculum at the Blue Sky Academy of Art.  Yang's art has been shown in 16 exhibitions, including six times at CSUF.  Yang also created The Artists League of Orange County and has been published in the Long Beach Press Telegram, Irvine Weekly, Los Angeles World Journal, OC Register, and OC Weekly.

 

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT

Using lenticular portraits and scenes, as well as maps of Orange County and Los Angeles County depicting important events from various ethnic communities, and hidden letter pictures that can be read with 3D glasses, this exhibit assists students to learn about how social and ethnic identities impact art and psychology.
