Established in 1967, University Archives and Special Collections preserves and provides access to the library’s rarest and most valuable original materials, supports curriculum, and preserves the University’s history.

University Archives and Special Collections materials are non-circulating and may be viewed in our Reading Room . The UA&SC Reading Room is open Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and Saturdays by appointment. To request a Reading Room appointment or a virtual research consultation send us an email . We will respond within 24 hours of your email inquiry Monday - Thursday. Requests may take longer to process when submitted Friday - Sunday.

U.S. Copyright Law applies to all materials in UA&SC and reproductions of materials may not be published in any form without written permission. Digital cameras and smart phones are permitted in the Reading Room, but only for use in accordance with our Copyright Guidelines .
In-person, synchronous and asynchronous online sessions are available to instruct your students on how to find and evaluate primary resources for course assignments and research papers. Please fill out the Library Instruction Request Form to schedule a session or contact the Archivist to make arrangements.
