Accreditation and Approvals

Institutional Accreditation

California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

SON Program Accreditation

The undergraduate and graduate programs in nursing including BSN, MSN and DNP programs at California State University, Fullerton are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.

SON Program Approval

Prelicensure pathway programs and Women's Health NP/Nurse Midwifery concentrations are approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) as required for certification and licensure.

NCLEX pass rates are posted for the past five years.

Individual Program Approvals

Each educational program within the School of Nursing at CSUF is approved by additional accrediting bodies as appropriate.

DNP Program

The CSU Southern California Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Consortium program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) until Fall 2028.

The California State University, Fullerton DNP program underwent an initial accreditation visit by CCNE March 12-14, 2025. The program was notified during the report-out session that it met all standards for accreditation. A report will be submitted to CCNE, and a final notification will occur in October. Once approved, the accreditation will be backdated to March 12, 2025.

Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner

The MSN Women’s Health Care Concentration is approved by the National Certification Corporation (NCC). Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the Women's Health NP certifying exam through the NCC. Graduates are also eligible for certification as a Nurse Practitioner through the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Women's Health Care Nurse-Midwife

The midwifery program at CSUF is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME), 8403 Colesville Road, Suite 1230, Silver Spring, MD 20910-6374; For information about accreditation please contact ACME directly. Tel: 240-485-1803, acme@acmn.org.

To date, 100% of our nurse-midwifery graduates have passed the AMCB examination.

Graduates are also eligible for certification as a Nurse-Midwife/NP through the California Board of Registered Nursing.

School Nurse Credential

The School Nurse Credential is approved by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).

Nurse Anesthesia Concentration

The Nurse Anesthesia Concentration is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).
