The general rule is to put a 1% space around content.  It give enough room that things feel seperate but cohesive.

You can add or remove this space (padding) around your sections but using these style modifies.

Note

The styles with "box" in them will only work on T4 layouts.  You need to identify the box you want to impact by using the edit mode.  Boxes will be highlighted in purple bars, with their name written on them, around editable sections.
