Project CREATE!

The Center collaborates with Fullerton School District in Project CREATE (Children Reaching Excellence in the Arts and Academics through Engagement), a federally-funded project designed to support mathematics and reading achievement through the arts. Teachers and students at Commonwealth and Raymond Schools keep art journals and engage in arts-learning experiences across all four arts disciplines and across the curriculum. With the participation of two schools in the Placentia-Yorba Linda School district acting as control schools in an experimental design research project, the effect of Project CREATE on student learning is being investigated by a research team from the Center for Research on Educational Access and Leadership (C-REAL).
