One Book, One CSUF Incentive Grants
Overview
The One Book One CSUF Incentive Grant was created to encourage faculty to incorporate the campus’s 2022-2023 “One Book” selection, One of the Good Ones by Maika Moulite and Maritza Moulite, in their instruction. We seek to support faculty with innovative plans to include One of the Good Ones in a fall 2022 or spring 2023 course that they are assigned or expected to teach. There will be two rounds for proposals. All faculty, including those who receive their teaching assignments after the initial proposal deadline, will have the opportunity to apply to the second round. Faculty members, however, are only eligible to receive one award.
Eligibility
All Unit 3 faculty (part-time, full-time, tenure-track, tenured, and FERP/emeritus*) with a teaching assignment in fall 2022 or spring 2023.
*FERP faculty are eligible to receive up to $250 in qualified course expenses but are not eligible to receive a stipend.
Deadline
The deadlines for the first and second round of proposals to come.
Awards
Awardees will receive a $500 stipend and up to an additional $250 in qualified course expenses, as described in their application budget.
Award recipients will be asked to serve as One Book One CSUF Incentive Grant reviewers in the next cycle and are not eligible to receive the grant during the cycle that they are a reviewer.
Application Applications for the One Book One CSUF Incentive Grant will be submitted on a Google Form (link below). Faculty will need to include the following:
- Name, Department, and email
- Name and semester of the course in which One of the Good Ones will be included
- A brief narrative (250 words or less) explaining how One of the Good Ones will be included in the course. Faculty should discuss how One of the Good Ones relates to the course’s learning objectives, plans for related activities or assignments, and a budget detailing qualified course expenses for which they are requesting funding (up to $250 per course). Examples of qualified course expenses include course materials needed to implement the proposal and honoraria for guest speakers. Equipment purchases are not qualified course expenses.
Further explanation and specific criteria will be provided on the application form.
