Project upGRADS (Utilizing & Promoting Graduate Resources & Access for Disadvantaged Students)
is an initiative funded by the U.S. Dept. of Education's HSI Division, Title V.

Project upGRADS is open and available to all graduate students who are interested to apply or participate, regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity, national origin, or any other protected status.

Project upGRADS: Selected Example of Excelencia in Higher Education

Over the past five years, the program has improved enrollment, persistence and graduation rates for the university’s underrepresented graduate students.

Project upGRADS is one of 20 programs nationwide named as a finalist for Examples of Excelencia  opens in a new window by a Excelencia in Education, the nation’s "premier authority on efforts accelerating Latino student success in higher education."  

Examples of Excelencia recognizes programs that demonstrate that "provide intentional, culturally relevant, evidence-based practices tailored to Latino students and their communities."
