PDFs have many pitfalls for accessibility, the biggest being the reading order. When you create documents in PDF, how and what order you add and move content around can change the order the document is read to techonogy, including assisstive technologies for people with disabilities.

axe-con is a three day virtual accessibility conference, and it is FREE! Registration is open. 
 
If you can't make any of the sessions when they are live, no worries! The replay is available to anyone who is registered, and the replays are usually posted soon after the session is over. You can even access the previous year's sessions!  
 
If you are able to make it live, you can chat with other people working on accessibility around the world from many different sectors.  Bonus: Their keynotes are always fantastic!
