MSN School Nursing Application Process

University Application

The Fall 2025 application will be available beginning October 1, 2024 online through Cal State Apply opens in a new window.

All applicants should select "Graduate opens in a new window" on the Cal State Apply website to access the application for each of these programs.

The online Cal State Apply opens in a new window application will require the following:

  • Completion of online application form which will ask for bio/demographic information and details about your previous education.
  • Names and email addresses for two (2) references. At least one recommendation must be from a School Nurse or Registered Nurse. The second can be either a School Nurse or School Administrator/Teacher. Both recommenders should be able to speak to your professional and/or academic skills. References will receive an email with directions complete the recommendation.
  • Statement of Purpose - in 500 words or less describe your preparation and reason(s) for pursuing graduate study in School Nursing
  • Current resume detailing all education and nursing work experience
  • Individual unofficial transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
  • Copy of current Clear SNS Credential
  • Application fee paid online when submitting the application

Official Transcripts Requirement

After completing the online application, you must submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities you have attended.

Your transcripts must be submitted directly to CSUF Admissions by the application deadline.

Electronic transcripts opens in a new window are preferred. Review the Admissions website for details and instructions.

Application Deadlines

The Fall 2025 priority application deadline is February 1, 2025. Applications received after February 1, 2025 will be considered on a space available basis. The final application deadline is March 15, 2025.

The following items must be submitted by the application deadline:

  • Online application, including all recommendations submitted
  • University application fee
  • Official electronic transcripts to CSUF Admissions
