Health Professions Advising

The Health Professions Advising Program has helped hundreds of students gain admission to health professions schools, including some of the nation’s most prestigious, such as Harvard, Stanford, Johns Hopkins Albert Einstein College of Medicine, as well as all of the UC campuses.

Services include:

  • Career choice and/or major advising
  • General advising
  • Committee letter interviews
  • Assistance for personal statements and secondaries
  • Intent to Apply program

College Readiness Programs

Early Assessment & Supportive Pathways for First-Year Students

The CSU Early Assessment Program (EAP) helps high school students evaluate their academic preparation for college, especially for writing and math courses in college. EAP looks at a number of factors — including a student’s high school GPA, test scores and courses taken in high school — to identify which first-year math and writing courses are the best fit for each admitted student. As part of the CSU’s commitment to academic preparation and student success, the Supportive Pathways for First-Year Students Program offers pathways for students identified through CSU placement standards as needing additional support with GE Written Communication and GE Math/Quantitative Reasoning requirements. CSUF has developed Fullerton Together, which focuses on offering personalized academic and social guidance during a student's first year, which may include optional summer participation.

Fullerton Finish

The Fullerton Finish Scholars Program is designed to help students who are committed to graduating within 4 years (for Freshmen) or 2 years (for transfer students) reach their goal. Every semester, students are given structured advising and a priority registration date to help them stay on track and meet their graduation goals.

California Promise

The "California Promise" is a guarantee from the California State University system that a first-time freshman can earn a degree in no more than four years (or two years, for transfer students having earned an Associate Degree for Transfer- ADT) if you pledge to, and follow, specific requirements. Graduating in four years (or two, as an ADT Transfer) will save you tuition and books/materials costs. It also will increase your earning potential by enabling you to enter the workforce sooner rather than later. Students who elect to participate in California Promise receive special academic advisement and priority registration.

 

Black Student Success Advising Program

The Black Student Success Advising program (BSSAP) at CSUF is dedicated to fostering connections within the university community where Black students feel seen, heard, and valued. We empower Black students through a holistic approach that emphasizes persisitence, knowledge of resources, and nurtures until graduation. 

Advising support includes:

  • One-on-one academic advising appointments in person or virtual
  • Reviewing general academic policies
  • Advising for General Education (GE) requirements
  • Reviewing campus resources for Black Titans
