What Is Academic Advising?

Academic advising is a multidimensional and intentional process designed to help students achieve their higher education goals. Advisors work in a collaborative partnership with students, a shared responsibility, where the advisor and student are equally invested in the educational process and holistic development of the student.

The mission of academic advising at Cal State Fullerton is to teach students to understand the meaning of higher education and the purpose of the curriculum; and to foster students’ intellectual and personal development toward academic success and lifelong learning.
