iPAD 2 REFRESH
NEW DEVICES, BETTER FUNCTIONALITY
New iPads will be going out to approximately 600 full time-faculty and staff bringing a close to the project to refresh nearly 1200 campus iPads. iPad2s will be upgraded to the iPad Air 16GB Retina display model. Helpdesk staff will be contacting eligible staff and faculty to setup appointments to do these upgrades starting in January.
During the appointment, clients will be shown how to setup Dropbox on their new device as well as get introduced to the new Office 365 Apps that bring the functionality of programs like Microsoft Word and Excel to the iPad.
Be prepared. When your refresh appointment comes up you will need to return your old iPad with all accessories such as the USB power cable and power adaptor. You will also need to know your iTunes account name and password.
CSUF has been deploying iPads since 2010 starting with a small pilot program testing the applicability of the devices for our campus. It has since proven to be a valuable tool in classrooms and meetings for faculty and staff. Tablets along with other mobile devices continue to reinvent the way we do work. IT is committed to empowering the campus through this technology.
