What is the process for requesting data?
Data requests should be made via the Data Request Form.
How long does it take to complete a request?
Once assigned and scheduled, most requests are completed within two to three weeks.
What types of information does OIEP office provide?

- Faculty Headcount and FTEF
- Student Demographics
- Other types of data upon request.

What types of information does the OIEP office NOT provide?
We do not provide Financial Aid information, student commute information, personal background information, off campus housing information and few others.
Are there any assumed security responsibilities when receiving institutional data?
OIEP is in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 that protects the privacy of student education records. Student-level record data that our office provides to campus constituents should be secured in compliance with all CSUF, CSU, state, and federal guidelines.
Does OIEP provide help with surveys?
Yes, OIEP can provide support in the creation of surveys used for the purpose of assessment and research. Please contact data@fullerton.edu.
What does '*' represent in the dashboards?
‘*’ in the dashboards denotes very few (~ < 10) counts. In accordance with FERPA, any counts less than 10 have been hidden in order to make it difficult to identify the individual persons.
How can I download the data available on OIEP website's tableau dashboards?
Unfortunately, you cannot download the data in accordance with FERPA. However, you can save the charts as a pdf or as an image by clicking on the download button at the bottom of each dashboard. If you are downloading it as a pdf, please select the option “This Dashboard” before beginning the download.
To whom does the OIEP office provide information?
All faculty and staff at CSUF.
Where can I get the data for self-support classes?
Please submit a Data Request Form or email us at data@fullerton.edu if you need self-support classes’ data. The dashboards on our website, provide information for only those students enrolled in state support classes in any given semester.
Where can I find out about the terms and acronyms used on the website?

When is the data on the dashboards and reports updated?
Some of the dashboards are updated after the census date of the given semester and the remaining ones relating to grades, retention, graduation are updated the after the end of term reports have been processed.
Does OIEP offer training for the faculty and staff?
Yes, OIEP provides training for faculty and staff on the dashboards, assessment, AMS, Qualtrics, and more. Please see the upcoming events page, or contact us at data@fullerton.edu.
Where can I find the historical data from 5 or even 10 years ago?
Most of the dashboards go back for a long duration of time. However, if you do not find the required data, please submit a Data Request Form.
Where does the race/ethnicity data come from?
The race/ethnicity data displayed on the dashboards are the ones that are calculated and reported according to Federal guidelines. Data on the dashboards does not contain self-reported ethnicity data that comes from the CSU Mentor Application. If you are interested in self-reported data please submit a Data Request Form or email data@fullerton.edu.
Where can I find the student's self-reported race/ethnicity data?
To know about the data relating to self-identifying of race/ethnicity asked on the application forms, please submit a Data Request Form or email data@fullerton.edu
Does OIEP undertake any research projects?
OIEP conducts analytical research projects – within the scope of our decision support duties – that inform campus assessment, planning, and effectiveness efforts. Some college- and department-specific research and evaluation projects may fall under the purview of our office’s responsibilities. Please contact us to see if we may be able to help with your research project.
Are there any media policies implemented by OIEP?
Since data and other information on the OIEP website are available and accessible to anyone it is therefore considered public information that can be reported by media outlets. When attributing information to us, please use the following for the first mention of our office: CSUF Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning.
However, since some definitions and terms are rather complicated, we strongly recommend that you contact us for assistance in interpreting data from our website before publication.
