Dr. Michele Barr

Lecturer In Residence

Michele Barr joined the Titan faculty in the Department of Kinesiology in 1995 as a part time lecturer and then as a fulltime lecturer in 2001. After earning both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton, Michele earned her EdD in Instructional Leadership in Higher Education from Argosy University. Within the department, Michele teaches courses in human anatomy and physiology, movement analysis, biomechanics, and statistics. Within the College of Health and Human Development, she was selected in 2013 as the Outstanding Teacher. Her research focuses on the cognitive engagement of college students in lecture classes.

In her role as the FDC Lecturer in Residence, Michele is focused on primarily on assisting teachers develop their professional practice of teaching in higher education. She currently provides workshops for the Teaching and Learning Programs for faculty and graduate students, and consults individually with faculty regarding their professional practice of teaching.

In her spare time, Michele engages in outdoor activities including surfing, golfing, shooting sporting clays, backpacking and camping. She is also an accomplished musician, singer and songwriter.
