The Sociology club is dedicated to applying sociology in the community and providing valuable opportunities to students. Come network, attend workshops, discuss sociology with others, make a difference, and get involved!

Sociology club is open to all CSUF students regardless of major. Come network, attend workshops, discuss sociology with others, make a difference, and get involved!
Application/Club Dues
Yearly Dues are $35 and Semester-By-Semester Dues are $25.
Payment
Student’s who are interested in submitting club dues can email Dr. Gibson (cwgibson@fullerton.edu) for instructions on how to provide payment.

Meetings and Events
Meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month throughout the semester from 4:15pm – 5:15pm. Meeting format (in-person/Zoom) will be announced and discussed to optimize attendance and participation. We are joined by various guests throughout the academic year who speak on different topics such as: use of force, career paths, voting, and social work among others. We also have fun socials, collaborations with other organizations, and host Sociology Week in Spring! The best way to find our updates is to follow us on social media or join our Discord.

Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD) invites you to join the CSU Fullerton Chapter of the International Sociology Honor Society.

AKD aims "to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition."
Open Accordion Why Join AKD? Open Accordion
- AKD membership looks great on your resume! Employers and colleagues recognize the value of membership in any honor society, and AKD makes an excellent addition to the honors and awards you can earn as a student.
- Meet other students in the sociological field. Develop a network within the academic and professional fields. You'll be given an opportunity to apply your sociological skills with others.
- Lifetime Membership without renewal fees. There are no annual dues for members after the initial $75 payment unless one decides to remain a Voting member.
- Free one-year subscription to Sociological Inquiry, the official journal of Alpha Kappa Delta.
- Annual Student Paper Competitions. AKD sponsors an annual student paper competition for both undergraduate and graduate students. Winners receive a cash prize and travel money to participate in the American Sociological Association (ASA) annual meeting.
Open Accordion Chapter Membership Benefits Open Accordion
- Chapter Representative Travel: AKD provides grants to chapter representatives to assist students presenting at regional sociological meetings.
- Sociological Research Symposium Grant: AKD provides a grant to develop and host a sociological research symposium on campuses.

- Declared as a Sociology Major or Minor
- Have a Junior, Senior, or Graduate standing
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.3; minimum major GPA of 3.0
At least 12 units of Sociology course work completed at CSUF. (For graduate students, 9 units completed).

Open Accordion Payment/Applying Open Accordion
- To apply, please fill out the AKD membership form. You may download it from the link below or you may drop by our office in College Park 900 (9th floor).
- AKD membership is $75.00. Cash or check is accepted. For checks, please make it out to "AKD". When submitting your AKD application at our office, please make sure to include both completed application & payment.
- When applying for the AKD membership, you are eligible to receive the AKD graduation cord . To try to ensure you receive your cord, please submit AKD applications by the following deadlines:
- Fall Semester: By the 1st of December
- Spring Semester: By March 21st
- Deadline to recieve application for honor cord and certificate. The application is on this webpage and can be mailed to (along with check for $75 made out to AKD):
