Part-Time Lecturer Evaluations
Overview
Part-time Lecturer evaluations are primarily overseen by the Department and/or College, and any questions regarding evaluation should be directed to them first. The period and type of review undergone by the Faculty Member is determined by the lecturer's length of employment and contract type.
In the 2024-2025 Academic Year ALL Part-time Lecturers will be required to submit their WPAF through the Interfolio submission system.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE SUMMARY OF ASSIGNED DUTIES : Create your own OR use the instructions link opens in a new windowopens in a new window pdf filePDF file typebelow to auto-generate your Summary of Assigned Duties. Do NOT ask your Dean's Office.
The classification of "full time lecturer," per UPS 210.070, Section II, "shall refer to the time base to which one is entitled under the terms of the academic-year or multi-year contract."
Access to Interfolio is available through the CSUF faculty portal. There will be 13 categories for comprehensive reviews and 6 categories for abbreviated within Interfolio for Lecturers to upload their documents. When your case is ready in Interfolio, you will receive an email message from the system (sample email link opens in a new windowopens in a new window pdf filePDF file type).
Please note that there will also be a Fall evaluation cycle this year for Lecturers who only teach in Fall semesters or for whom Fall 2024 is their second semester of teaching. For Counselors (CAPS) and Library Faculty there are some documents that are specific to their portfolios and are listed under the Templates and Forms section below.
UPS 210.070 defines the four types of evaluations. The period of review for each evaluation type is different and the type of evaluation that Lecturer faculty undergo is determined by length of employment at CSUF and terms of current contract:
- 6-year comprehensive evaluation
- Year 3 of 3 periodic evaluation (usually abbreviated; comprehensive by request)
- Annual Periodic evaluation (abbreviated or comprehensive)
- Range Elevation evaluation (standalone or in combination with a 6-year/Year 3 of 3)
Descriptions and materials to aid in the preparation of all evaluation types, except Range Elevations, are provided on this page. Further information about Range Elevations can be found on the FAR Range Elevation Information Page.
