Site Setup

The site setup is what creates your identity within the branded header and footer on your site.  The site setup is also where you can turn on iTuffy, set site wide breadcrumbs, and add or update any social media channels to be added to your header.

Edit in Properties

All of the site setup updates are done in the Properties tab of the site setup page. Make sure the page is checked out in order to access the properties. 

Site Wide Message

In this area, you can add a message that would go above the hader of all of your pages.  This is best used for for critical emergency or time senstive information.  Once the site message has been added, the site wide message must be turned on in the properties of the site setup file.

Alert Message

If you add a site wide message, you must check this box and republish the site setup file in order for the message to appear at the top of the pages within your site.

Site Name and Site URLs

The site name section is what creates the text across the top of your header. You can also set an optional shorter version for mobile.  

If your site has a site name change, please contact the web team so that we can update the central site records.

The site URL shows your development and public facing URLs.

DO NOT change your URLs as this will break your site.  If you require a URL change, contact the web team for assistance.

Site Contact / Owners

The site contact/owners section should be the main responsible department or division.  The site email will be displayed in the footer.

Site Secruity

Our servers use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) for internet security.  Checking this box will force your content to https:// even if someone types in http:// in their web browser.

This is generally selected by default.

Division/College/Top Department Info

This will go above your site name on the header of your pages if display in header is selected.  If you are a lop level division, you can leave this blank.

Google Codes: Analytics, Search, Tags

All V5 sites will be integrated with a Google Analytics Code.  Contact the web team for be added a user to see your site stats. The webteam can also help with searching multiple URLs.

Google Tag Manager Code is an advanced marketing tracking option that is included for users who wish to use them.  The web team does not support the setup or managing of this tool.

Footer Info

The footer info is the primary contact information for your website.  If the site name and site email are relevant, then you can use the "Use site general information" option.  If you have a central college or division owner or technician, then you can use the "Another group, use information below" option.

iTuffy Bot

iTuffy Bot is off by default.  Checking this option will turn add the Ask iTuffy tab at the bottom of all of your pages.  iTuffy is a chatbot that will answer questions, provide directions, and link students to the information they are looking for.

Site Breadcrumbs

Breadcrumbs are a navigational aid that allows users to keep track of their current location on a website or interface. 

  • Use per page option - This option is on by default, and that is turned on in the page properties of each individual page.  
  • Override: Turn ON breadrums ALL pages - This option ignores the per page setting and will turn on breadrumbs on all pages except for the homepage (main index).
  • Override: Turn OFF breadcrumbs ALL pges - This option ignores the per page setting and will turn off breacrumbs on all pages.

Social Media Menu

There are three options for displaying your social media, but currently, only the ON in header under "Social Media" dropdown is available.

Social Media Icons

There are 18 unique social media options available.  Check the box for each social media type and enter the URL to the social media.  This will create a social media dropdown to the right of your main navigation.

This sections is for dev admins only.  Any JavaScript added must be accessible.  Contact the web team if you require assistance.
