Page Banners

Starting with version 5.24 sites can now have up to 50 preset page banners.  The original page banner file has been reworked to use the info block format.  If your site is not on 5.24, or your page banner set up file does not include the features below, reach out to your local web admin and ask if your site is ready for the upgrade. 

It will be the responsiblity of your web admin to transfer all custom artwork created for your page banners to the new file.

Basic Setup

From the _setup folder within each site will be a page specific to just page banners.  Edit that file and it will drive the page banners across your site.  This file is structured based on the info block file and will allow up to 50 banners to be created but unlike other types of info block you can not create multiple page banner files nor are they able to be pulled into other websites.  You can always use the same image on other sites within its own page banner file.

More Features, More Control

Starting with the 5.24 page banners there is a greater ability to control the image.  The five base editors are: CSS, Categories, Tags, Details, and Content Block.

CSS

Use this to add image filters or tagline color codes.  CSS classes that are not associated with either of those will be ignored

Categories and Tags

Pages that want to use banners can now have the ability to choose images associated with a category, tag, or both.  This combined with randomization can help you scope your images so your banners can be reused with purpose.

Details

The only feature in the details that will work is the Active (Y/N).  This allows you to disable an image from being pulled into a page without needing to delete any of the data.

Content Block

This editor allows you to add an image and a title if you want to have text appear under the image. 

Images are best at 2400px wide by no more than 600px tall.
Keep your file sizes to less than 700kb for faster loading times.

To help make our pages as accessible as possible add your text in the editor instead of embeding it in the image. 

Use either the style content main title , or accordion, tabbed content, or title to indicate that the text is going with the image.  There is a limit of one title per image.  Keep text short and meaningful.
