Info Blocks: Dynamic Content

Snapshots

Snapshots represent a single info block file in a multi-file set up.  A snapshot allows you to give the end user a simple choice where to start filtering data, but this does not limit them once they make that choice.

How To Configure a Snapshot

Snapshot data is configured with each info block file.  It has a separate editing screen where you can add in the header image or color, the header text, and then some optional footer information.  Snapshots require that you have some data within the info block.  Creating a snapshot without having any data to display will be skipped when the page loads and the user will not see a snapshot for that entry.

When using a snapshot on your page the data is related to whatever the Collection Name is set to.  This means if you pull data from multiple sources where the Collection Name is the same, then the first snapshot will represent all the data under that Collection when the user presses the view button.

For example: if you have data coming from website A, B, and C and you load them into the page properties as A, B and C.  If each file has a Collection Name set to "Services", when the page loads the snapshot data from website A will be shown with the view button.  When the user clicks on view they will see all services from A, B, and C.  This way if website B has a different snapshot set up you can bypass that and use it only for website B, or you can load the data in the page properties as B, A, C (or any order) where the first instance will control the snapshot based on the Collection Name.

Snapshot Style Modifiers

The basic set up for snapshots are controlled by the info block file.  These modifiers will help you configure how best to display multiple snapshots on the page.

Snapshot Columns

If you are using multiple files within your page then you can set a standard for how many columns will display.  These columns are a suggestion as the page will have a minimum width for each snapshot, anything that goes beyond that will wrap down to the next row.  This way users will smaller monitors or on mobile devices will still see each snapshot with enough data that they don't have to horizontally scroll the page.
